French startup EPSEED made a strong impact at CES Las Vegas 2025, securing over 300 preorders for The Seed, its groundbreaking device designed to enhance and secure remote work. This success positions the company for its next major step: scaling from artisanal production to industrial manufacturing.
The Seed enables remote employees to access their professional workspace from their personal computer while ensuring a strict separation between personal and work environments. “We leverage existing computers but boot from our device instead of the internal hard drive, creating a fully isolated session,” explains Kélian Bailet, EPSEED’s president and co-founder. This ensures top-tier security while providing a seamless user experience, identical to an office workstation.
Founded in 2022, EPSEED now has eight team members, including its four co-founders. The innovation was initially developed in 2020 as a final-year project at Epitech, with a clear goal: to offer a simple, practical solution for businesses without requiring technical expertise. “Our device is as easy to use as a USB key,” Bailet emphasizes.
EPSEED has received financial support from Cim Gestion and Bpifrance. Until now, its units were 3D-printed and hand-assembled, but the enthusiastic reception at CES has changed everything. With valuable new industry connections, the company is now accelerating toward industrial production—an essential step to meet growing demand and establish its credibility on the international stage.
